Hi! I am...
Farishta!
/fə.ɾɪʃ.t̪ɑː/, faa-reesh-tah
I am a recent Master of Science Graduate in Computing Science and am strongly inclined toward exploring new technologies and solutions. While working as a Graduate Student at the University of Alberta, I developed a knack for practical user privacy and security research sectors, human-computer interaction (HCI), software development, and creative technologies. I have academic employment experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Introduction to Database Management Systems, as well as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at BRAC University. Currently, I am working as a Research Assistant in the Practical Usable Privacy and Security (PUPS) Research Lab under the supervision of Professor Bailey Kacsmar. My research has primarily focused on understanding the practical aspects of user privacy and security, aiming to navigate insights, identify current problems, and curate solutions that enhance research in user experience and safety in digital environments.
Additionally, this background is complemented by professional communication and management skills, along with tech-business, and content development expertise while working in the telecom sector, various non-profit organizations, and start-up ventures. This allows me to effectively bridge the gap between technical solutions and user needs. Looking forward, I am enthusiastic about continuing to expand my knowledge in these vital sectors exploring more research and development opportunities, always seeking to integrate innovative approaches with user-centric solutions!
